How to defeat Seized Construct boss in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

Defeating the seized construct allows you to complete the Spirit Temple and Guide to Ages Past main quest in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

Remember: you need to attach some zonai devices to your construct while traveling together to the Spirit Temple, because without them, you’ll have a hard time defeating the seized construct. See below if you want to learn how to defeat the seized construct in Tears of the Kingdom.

How to defeat the Seized Construct boss in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

Before fighting the seized construct in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, we recommend equipping Mineru’s construct with a cannon and a spiked ball, as both will be incredibly useful in the upcoming battle. You may also want to attach a fan to the construct’s back so you can move around the battlefield faster, but keep your power cell in mind!

These weapons, along with fans, can be found in the various armories you found on your journey to the Spirit Temple.

Don’t worry if they break during the fight, because the seized construct will drop zonai devices during the battle that you can then attach to your own construct.

When you are ready to begin the battle against the seized construct, jump on top of your construct and examine the owl statue in the Spirit Temple. This will take you inside the temple and when you enter the darkness filled area that is definitely not a trap, the fight will begin!

Building Spirit Temple Boss Seized – Phase 1

For starters, it’s important to keep an eye on your energy cell during this battle, because if it runs out, you’ll be basically helpless. The large amount of darkness on the ground also means that it is a very bad idea to step outside the construct. Remember, you can recharge the power cell using zonai charges, and if you’re having trouble with this fight, then it’s worth upgrading.

Fortunately, the way to defeat the seized construct is quite simple. First, you must stun it by hitting the enemy construct with the cannon. You will then have to hit it with the spiked ball, usually three times, until the seized construct falls onto the fence surrounding the battlefield.

Don’t forget to stay away from the seized construct when using the cannon too or you risk taking damage! You can also hit the seized construct without the spiked ball, but it will deal less damage.

If you’re lucky, you’ll be able to lock the seized construct into a specific area for a while, making hitting the fence much easier. Just make sure to avoid the pillars as if you hit the construct into them it won’t take any damage.

During this phase of the fight, the seized construct will cause Zonai devices to appear on its arms. This includes shock emitters, which he waves in front of himself as he charges towards you, and his own cannon. He may also choose to simply punch you and throw you into the fence, where you will take additional damage.

The seized construct also has the ability to jump across the battlefield, usually after being slammed into the fence, but can often end up near the fence on the opposite side of the arena.

Building Spirit Temple Boss Seized – Phase 2

The second phase of this boss battle will begin with two additional arms emerging from the seized construct. You’ll also get some new Zonai devices, some of which will drop when you hit the fence, allowing you to add them to your build.

During this stage of the fight, you’ll want to continue stunning the seized construct and slamming it into the fence until it dies. However, he won’t stay stunned for as long and may need up to four times to hit the construct against the fence.

The seized construct has some new moves during this phase related to the new zonai devices it can spawn. This includes flying in the air using a rocket, but you can easily shoot it down using the cannon. You’ll want to do this quickly, because he can perform a flying electric attack when he’s in the air. He will also keep hitting you and jumping around the sand.

Remember: you can use the devices that fall from the seized construct. While they may not always be the ones we recommend, you can still use them to stun the construct and knock it into the fence.

Once you’ve defeated the seized construct, collect the heart container if you wish and examine the secret stone.

After viewing the cutscene, you will receive the Vow from Mineru, Sage of Spirit, which allows you to summon and use his Construct at will. You will now also have completed the main quest Guide to Ages Past.

However, before you leave the Spirit Temple, there are a couple of Zonai Builds that you should take the time to talk to.

The construct on the left side of the altar will offer you the chance to trade powerful Zonai weapons for Zonaite. Meanwhile, the one on the right side will give you an Ancient Sword. You can return to this build whenever you want to exchange 50 pieces of Zonaite for additional Ancient Blades.

Once you have completed your business at the Spirit Temple, return to Lookout Landing and speak with Purah to complete the main quest Finding the Fifth Sage and Crisis at Hyrule Castle. What happens next depends on whether you’ve already picked up the Master Sword or not.

If you already have the Master Sword, it’s time to defeat Ganondorf! Although you can face him even if you don’t have the Master Sword…

If you have not recovered the Master Sword, you have the option to collect the Dragon Tears or complete the main quests The Trail of the Master Sword and Recover the Hero’s Sword. These quests will take you to the Lost Woods, where you will have to defeat a set of Gloom Hands and a Phantom Ganon.

These options will take you to Master Sword and offer you more information about the story of Tears of the Kingdom. If you’re a Zelda connoisseur, we recommend completing both options so you can get a more complete picture of what’s happening in Hyrule.
