How to beat Atticus in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, and Team Star Poison Crew’s base location

Atticus is the leader of the Navi Squad in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, who are the poisonous crew of the evil Team Star.

To get Atticus’ Star Badge in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you’ll first have to clear the Poison Star Bombardment inside the base and then defeat Atticus himself.

To help you earn that badge and progress through the Starfall Street story, below we detail where to find Team Star’s Poison Crew base, along with which Pokémon you should face outside the base and how to remove the Star Barrage and defeat the Leader of the Team Star Poison, Atticus.

Team Star Poison Crew Base Location in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

You can find the Team Star Poison Crew base in both Pokémon Scarlet and Violet north of Zapapico in the Tagtree Thicket location. The entrance with the Grunt guarding it is marked with a purple Poison icon on your map.

To quickly find the Poison Base, fly to the Pokémon Center in the northwest of the Eastern Province (Tree Area), the center on the border with the Tagtree Thicket area, then follow the main path into the thicket.

When you get close enough to the entrance to the Navi Squad base, a cutscene will play. After that, you can head towards the flags to fight a trainer outside before entering, so it’s a good idea to make sure your Pokémon are healed before heading to the base.

Pokémon Trainer Youssef outside Team Star’s Poison Crew base in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

The Grunt outside the Star Poison Crew base in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet will run towards the base to alert the rest of Team Star that you are here, so you will fight Trainer Youssef. Youssef fights a level 30 Gulpin and a level 31 Shroodle.

Both Gulpin and Shroodle are Poison-types, so make sure you have a Psychic or Ground Type in your team’s first slot, as Poison is vulnerable to these moves. If you don’t have any good Psychic or Ground Pokémon, you can use Poison, Rock, or Steel-type Pokémon, but they won’t be as effective.

We use Charcadet’s evolution, Armarouge at level 47, which is dual-type Fire and Psychic, to defeat Gulpin and Shroodle quickly. However, Armarouge is only available in Pokémon Scarlet, so those playing Violet must select another strong Psychic or Ground type.

Once you defeat Trainer Youssef, you will get 1612 prize money and will be able to access the Poison Crew base.

However, before ringing the bell to enter Team Star’s Poison base, make sure the first three Pokémon on your team are fully healed, as you’ll only be able to use them in the next challenge.

How to complete Star Barrage at Team Star’s Poison Crew base in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

To clear Team Star’s Poison base, you must defeat 30 of their Pokémon in 10 minutes during a ‘Star Barrage’ and then battle Poison Crew’s leader, Atticus.

You’ll use the Let’s Go feature to take on Star Barrage, so press ‘R’ to send out your Pokémon when you encounter groups of enemies. You can continue to press ‘R’ to summon more Pokémon and move them between areas when you encounter more enemies.

During the Poison Crew Star Barrage challenge, you will face the following Pokémon:

  • foongus
  • Amoonguss
  • Gulpin
  • swallow
  • varoom
  • Venonat
  • Grafaiai
  • Shroodle
  • Paldean Wooper
  • Clodsire
  • Grimer
  • Seviper
  • Gastly

Although we recommend using Psychic or Ground types (since Poison types are weak against them) to prepare for the upcoming boss fight, virtually any Pokémon with a high enough level will be able to defeat 30 of these Pokémon in a few minutes. .

Just make sure not to use Grass or Fairy types, as they are vulnerable to Poison moves.

We used a lineup of Armarouge, Clodsire, and Pawmo, all at level 48, and were able to beat Poison Crew’s Star Barrage challenge in under three minutes.

If you notice that your Pokémon is low on health during a Star Barrage, you can return to Clive and he will heal your party for you. However, if one of them faints, you can help them recover HP by using one of the vending machines in the base.

If you’re too low level or have accidentally chosen the wrong types for your party, you can press ‘Y’ to give up for now and come back later to try Star Barrage again whenever you want.

Our The Teal Mask walkthrough will help you complete the first part of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC, but make sure you know how to start it first. When visiting Kitakami it is a good idea to know how to get Sinistea, Dipplin and The Loyal Three. Our Pokémon Scarlet and Violet walkthrough can take you through the main campaign, including The First Day of School, Victory Road, Starfall Street, Path of Legends, and, when you’re ready, The Way Home and the final boss. How to beat Atticus in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Once you complete the Star Barrage at the Poison Crew base, you will have to face their leader, Atticus, in a battle.

Atticus will use four Pokémon:

  • Sci-Fi Tank – Level 32
  • Bathroom – Level 32
  • Muk – Level 32
  • Revavroom (Navi Starmobile) – Level 32

Skuntank is a dual-type Poison and Dark, so you can’t use psychic moves on it. However, Ground is resistant to poison and is also super effective against it, so we suggest using a Ground type on Skunktank, such as Clodsire, the evolution of Paldean Wooper.

Revavroom is a dual-type Poison and Steel, so sticking with a Ground Pokémon is still super effective against it. Just be careful if you use Clodsire, as Revavroom’s Bulldoze will be super effective, since Clodsire is both Ground and Poison-type. Fire types could also work against Revavroom.

Muk’s type is simply Poison, so Ground and Psychic Pokémon will work better against it. Just keep in mind that Muk can also use ground moves, so if you have a dual Poison-type, they will be vulnerable here as well.

The second Revavroom is the Navi Starmobile variant, so it shares the same weaknesses as Poison, as its type is specific to the base of this Poison Crew. Therefore, Psychic and Ground types will be effective in defeating Atticus’ Navi Starmobile Revavroom. Armarouge is a good choice, as it is also resistant to the Navi Starmobile’s Spin Out attack.

We also recommend carrying plenty of potions and antidotes to take on Atticus, as he’ll probably poison you at least a couple of times.

Once you’ve defeated Skuntank, Revavroom, Muk, and Navi Starmobile, you’ll have successfully defeated Atticus and cleared Team Star’s Poison Crew base.

In addition to receiving the Atticus Team Star Badge and progressing through the Starfall Street story, you’ll earn the following rewards:

That’s another Team Star Crew base, so why not take on Giacomo, Mela, Ortega or Eri next? Or maybe you want to continue with Victory Road or Path of Legends? The world is your cloister!
