The annual G7 (Group of Seven) Summit is here. G7 member states and leaders will meet from May 19 to 21 to discuss various issues of global importance such as the Ukraine war, generative AI, the economy, military relations and more.
The 2023 G7 Summit will take place in Hiroshima, Japan. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the G7 along with UK Prime Ministers Rishi Sunak and Italy’s Giorgia Meloni.
There are seven main member states in the G7: Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States. The European Union is an unlisted member.

Key issues of the G7 Japan
Hiroshima, Japan, is the site of the 2023 G7 Summit. Hiroshima has several historical implications, as it was the first city bombed with a nuclear weapon during World War II. Hiroshima symbolizes the serious threat of atomic weapons, the effects of wars and steps towards world peace.
According to Prime Minister Kishida of Japan, the world is facing an unprecedented crisis over Russia’s war against Ukraine and the growing risk of the use of weapons of mass destruction. The G7 Summit in Hiroshima in 2023 will cover the main problems facing the world, such as military aggression, any threat of nuclear weapons, as well as attempts to overthrow the international order with historical importance. As such, Hiroshima was chosen by Japan to express its commitment to global peace.
