Finding the location of the Shifty Shafts treasure map is the goal of one of Fortnite’s many weekly challenges.
Completing it will give you additional XP to help you get many Season 5 rewards.
Please note that you will need to have a Battle Pass in order to take on this challenge.
Please note that this particular challenge can no longer be completed. What’s new? Chapter 4 Season 2 has arrived! New additions include Grind Rails and Kinetic Blades, along with the new Battle Pass, character collection, and Eren Jaeger skin. It’s a good idea to know how to get XP quickly in Fortnite.
How the Shifty Shafts Treasure Map Works
For the week 9 challenges, you have the following task:
- Follow the treasure map found in Shifty Shafts (1 total, 10 battle stars)
Another challenge this week is the Stone Heads locations.
Shifty Shafts hides a map that paves the way to hidden treasure. He note that only those with the Battle Pass will be able to see it, and a diagram of where the treasure can be found appears on the map.
However, you can skip this first step and go directly to the treasure location, as explained later on this page, if you prefer to do so.
As with other challenges, you must complete them while playing matches (you cannot enter the map without other players), so you will have to avoid combat encounters while trying to find each location.

Shifty Shafts Treasure Map Location
Shifty Shafts are located in the approximate center of the map, just south of Tilted Towers. However, you don’t need to go there to collect the treasure; simply follow the instructions below.
You will have to go to the mountain that is just southwest of Dusty Divot. It’s like no other: tall and thin, with multiple cliffs going all the way to the end, some with campsites. It is in quadrant F6 of the map.
You’re looking for the cliff halfway up, on the southeast side. If you fly from the northeast, it’s the one on the left, like this:
Land there and on the outer edge the Treasure will appear when you are close enough. Pick it up with the button and it’s yours.
