Each new season of Fortnite brings new items, and in this guide we will see where to find and how to implement Alien Nanites.
Implementing Alien Nanites will help you finish a legendary mission in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 7.
This task, which appears during week 5 and after receiving orders from a pay phone and interacting with a CB radio, is much less simple in comparison.
Alien Nanites are quite elusive, for some reason, and it may take you a while to stumble across them. That said, this guide explains how they spawn, some possible locations that worked for us, and how to deploy Alien Nanites once you’ve looted one.
Completing this challenge will reward you with 30,000 XP, which will help you unlock Battle Stars for the Season 7 Battle Pass.
Please note that this particular challenge can no longer be completed. What’s new? Chapter 4 Season 2 has arrived! New additions include Grind Rails and Kinetic Blades, along with the new Battle Pass, character collection, and Eren Jaeger skin. It’s a good idea to know how to get XP quickly in Fortnite.

Alien Nanites Locations Explained – Where to Find and How to Deploy Alien Nanites in Fortnite
Alien Nanites have two uses: they can convert specific weapons into IO weapons, functioning similarly to nuts and bolts, or they can also be deployed to create a low-gravity area. As such, an Alien Nanite is an item that must be picked up manually.
Alien Nanite locations can be found:
- Spawning on the ground
- On top of the kidnappers
- Inside the mothership
The last two are related, with the abductors taking you to the mothership, but if you’re looking for Alien Nanites for the Week 5 Legendary Challenge, they’ve been disabled, at least in their debut.
Therefore, you must look for them on the ground. Although they are classified as a common item, they appear to be rare and for many players, including ourselves, have proven difficult to find.
In our experience, we found only a few after participating in several matches.
Our main recommendation is to play normally, perhaps completing other challenges as the main objective, but keeping an eye on items that appear on the ground to see if they appear. The video embedded at the top of this page provides an example of what they look like.
If you’re really struggling, while there’s no guarantee they’ll be there, we’ve marked the locations where we found some with a degree of reliability near Pleasant Park (which is where you can also find alien parasites), but, again, it may be easier. Play normally as they can appear anywhere.
Although they appear randomly, we found two Alien Nanites south and east of Pleasant Park, which can also work for you.
Alternatively, it might be worth waiting until the Abductors return, assuming they will when the Week 5 legendary questline comes to an end.

Once you get one, it’s time to implement it. To do this, all you have to do is aim at any desired location and press the fire button to launch it.
This will create a field around the impacted area for a couple of seconds, where you can float and do some pretty peculiar jumps while inside. As soon as you deploy an Alien Nanite, the challenge will be over.
Now it’s time to take on the next challenge, which requires you to dance near Zyg and Choppy.
