At the Ram Janambhoomi temple, where he offered prayers, Prime Minister Narendra Modi lit five ‘diyas’ of ghee. The ceremonial ritual marked the beginning of the festival as the diya lights meant ‘Deepotsav’. The Prime Minister called on city residents to support the growth of cultural heritage.

On the other hand, Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister, referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a legacy shield. He gave full credit to the Prime Minister for the construction of the Ram Temple. Yogi Adityanath referred to the Prime Minister as “India’s best craftsman”.

Punjab

People light various types of diyas in their homes to commemorate the celebration of Diwali. However, Hero Homes has lit the world’s largest diya in Mohali, Punjab, which weighs almost 1,000 kg of steel.

To promote world peace, secularism and humanism, the world’s largest diya, measuring 3.37 meters in diameter, was lit on Saturday. More than 10,000 people gathered a total of 3,560 liters of organic oil to produce this one-of-a-kind diya. The diya was lit by Lieutenant General (Retd) KJ Singh PVSM, AVSM, former GOC Western Command.

I had the privilege of participating in the lighting of the largest Diya lamp symbolizing peace at Hero Homes. Certified by Guinness Records.
