Destiny 2 Vex Mythoclast: Drop location and how to get the Catalyst explained

Vex Mythoclast from Destiny 2 is an exotic that has returned to Destiny 2.

This unique fusion rifle, with a rate of fire closer to that of a scout rifle than the long charge we are accustomed to with this class of weapon, led some players to claim that it was “unfair” and “overpowered” in the original Destiny.

Debuting in Destiny 2 during May 2021 alongside Fatebringer, the Vex Mythoclast is a random drop within the Vault of Glass and its Vex Mythoclast Catalyst requires solving a series of puzzles to unlock; This page explains how it all works.

How to get Vex Mythoclast in Destiny 2

As with the original Destiny, the Vex Mythoclast is tied to the Vault of Glass raid; However, unlike the original, it does not require playing on a higher difficulty to unlock it.

The Vex Mythoclast in Destiny 2 has a chance to drop after the final encounter in the Vault of Glass. Specifically, once you’ve defeated Atheon, it’s possible that the Vex Mythoclast could be part of the loot from that encounter. The normal version of the raid or Challenge mode will do.

🚨BREAKING: Vex Mythoclast will leave the final encounter with Atheon and complete the Vault of Crystal raid. The drop rate is very low!👀

Remember, as with any raid loot, nothing is guaranteed and you should instead rely on drop rates. Vex Mythoclast’s drop rate is currently unknown, but it is expected to be similar to Exotics that also dropped in the final encounters of a raid, such as Deep Stone Crypt’s Eyes on Tomorrow. (In other words, pretty low.)

It is currently unknown if there is a “bad luck protection” for Vex Mythoclast drops, meaning that if it doesn’t drop after so many encounters, there is a system to ensure that you will eventually get it.

The Season of the Depths is here along with the Into the Depths quest. You can also know how to go fishing! Don’t forget to keep an eye on the Lost Sector and King’s Fall challenge rotation schedule!

How to get the Vex Mythoclast catalyst in Destiny 2

As with most exotics, there is a catalyst to unlock that further increases the power of the Vex Mythoclast.

In addition to the usual additions of spawning orbs and displaying a kill tracker, the catalyst will see “higher overload stacks increase stability.”

To unlock the Vex Mythoclast catalyst, you must shoot five plates within the Vault of Glass raid with the weapon itself. Once the plate has been shot, several Oracles will appear nearby. Destroy all of these and the final plate will see the catalyst drop.

As for the locations of the plates themselves, they are easier to observe than to explain, as each plate generates an increasing number of oracles in hard-to-find locations (the first plate has three, the second has four, and so on). ).

Check out Luckyy 10p on YouTube for an example of completing each stage of the puzzle:

Between unlocking the Vex Mythoclast first and rerunning the raid to find all the extra Oracle locations for the Catalyst, this will give you plenty of incentive to rerun Vault of Glass beyond earning Pinnacle gear. And, if you needed another one, remember that Fatebringer also returned to Destiny 2.
