Destiny 2 Divinity quest steps: Where to find Vex Cores to analyse in the Divine Fragmentation step

Destiny 2’s Divinity is an exotic quest for those who have purchased Shadowkeep.

Unlocking this Arc Trace rifle is tied to the Shadowkeep Raid, Garden of Salvation, so be prepared to have a Raid party with you for those who want to unlock this weapon.

That said, there are some steps you need to take outside of the raid that you can do alone, which we recommend doing before you group up and get started.

In this page:

How to get Divinity in Destiny 2 in brief

Here’s a quick summary of the steps needed to obtain Divinity:

  • Travel to the lunar battlefields in Moon Patrol and eliminate the Vex enemies to begin the mission.
  • Scan oracles within three lost sectors of Nessus
  • Kill Vex enemies on the Moon to obtain Decryption Cores
  • Purchase an Empowered Decryption Core by spending 30 Phantasmal Shards
  • Run the Garden of Salvation raid and complete the seven puzzles along the way.

Once this is done, Divinity is all yours.

Thanks to Datto on YouTube for helping us develop the steps above:

How to start the Divinity quest in Destiny 2

Although Divinity is the exotic linked to Garden of Salvation, you must first perform a series of steps outside of the Raid.

The first thing is to resume the mission, which you will do on the Moon on Patrol in the Lunar Battlegrounds area.

To get there, you need to head south of Sorrow’s Harbor, where, looking south, you’ll come to a red bridge. Cross the bridge and take the path to emerge in the Lunar Battlegrounds.

As soon as you leave the bridge, turn left and follow the cliff face to reach a cave.

Inside the cave is a Vex door, which will see groups of Vex appear.

Clear them all until Zeteon, the boss of Redemptive Mind, appears, who will launch a quest called “What is this… What is this?”, which is the first step in the Divine Fragmentation quest.

With What is this? What is this? collected, you now have to find Oracles within three Lost Sectors on Nessus. They are all hidden in side rooms that are very easy to miss. When you find one, you’ll need to scan it twice, with a small number of enemies to defeat in between.

Vex Core locations are as follows:

Ancient’s Haunt: This lost sector is essentially a clockwise path that leads in a whirlpool. About halfway down, you’ll come across some rocks: a larger one on the left and another in the middle of the path.

Turn left behind the largest rock towards the wall to find a cave with the Oracle.

If you’re having trouble finding it, start from the beginning and hug the left wall, and you’ll eventually reach the cave.

The Orrery: This is essentially a long room with a series of steps leading up to the chest at the other end.

About halfway up, look up and to the left to see several ledges against the wall.

Jump up these ledges and search the wall to find a hidden corridor that leads to a small room with an Oracle inside.

The Conflux: This is a large room with several beams of energy running from the floor to the ceiling. Find the first energy beam on the right.

Now look just to the right to see a series of ledges leading to an area in the wall, the last step of which is bronze in color.

Jump here to find a room with the location of Oracle and Vex Core.

Once all three are done, you will unlock the ‘Defragmentation’ step as part of the larger Divine Fragmentation quest.

How to complete the Defragmentation step as part of the Divine Fragmentation quest

This defragmentation step involves obtaining 120 decryption cores. To do this, you must kill Vex on the Moon.

You will find them in Vex invasions; It’s worth doing if you haven’t already to complete Eyes on the Moon and unlock the Vex offensive activity, of which the Vex inside will also drop decryption cores.

Once this is done, you will need to purchase a powered decryption core. This is obtained by spending 30 Phantasmal Shards on the Enchantment Lectern. Phantasmal Shards are obtained by killing Nightmares or purchased directly from the Lectern of Enchantment.

Once this is done, it’s time to head to the Garden of Salvation.

The Season of the Depths is here along with the Into the Depths quest. You can also know how to go fishing! Don’t forget to keep an eye on the Lost Sector and King’s Fall challenge rotation schedule!

How to get Divinity within the Garden of Salvation

Within the Garden of Salvation there are seven puzzles you must complete, all of which revolve around the raid’s bondage mechanic. You need all six players to attach the bindings in various ways between encounters.

To start, make sure you’ve completed the steps above (although any player can participate in the puzzles, if you want Divinity, you must have done them first) and at the start of the raid, run down the cliff and turn around. to find a hidden room. There is a node here that you need to activate.

The seven riddles are better shown than explained, as they involve positioning players in specific patterns. We recommend watching Datto’s video about all of them, which begins at minute 3:00 of the video, and which shows the locations of the puzzles, as well as their solutions:

Once you have completed all seven puzzles (it is suggested that you do this in one go), take down the final boss. The final loot will be joined by a second chest containing Divinity, completing the quest. Congratulations!
