Destiny 2 Compass Rose god roll recommendation and drop location

The Destiny 2 Compass Rose is an event-specific weapon in Destiny 2.

Debuting in Destiny 2 during the 2021 Season of the Splicer alongside Uzume RR4, Plug One.1, and Hung Jury SR4, Compass Rose is a possible drop during Solstice and will return in 2022 alongside the new addition of Something New.

If you’ve been looking for a new shotgun to conquer in both PvE and PvP, it’s worth looking into. This page explains how to get the Compass Rose and our Compass Rose Divine Spread recommendation, along with other spreads that may be useful.

How to get the compass rose in Destiny 2

Unlike the aforementioned weapons, which are all possible drops during Nightfall Strikes, the Compass Rose is exclusive to the Solstice event.

The limited-time event offers a great opportunity to obtain this new weapon fairly easily, although it will require more time to get the god roll.

Compass Rose drops exclusively as a reward for completing Bonfire Bash missions. This is the 2022 Solstice-specific event available for a limited time during the 2022 Season of the Charmed.

The Bonfire Bash mission can be found at the top of the Tower destination screen. Start the activity, kill the bad guys, collect your prize and there is a chance that the Compass Rose will be one of the items that drops at the end.

It’s purely a matter of luck, so if you don’t find it, the only thing you can do is keep trying.

Remember to stock up on a good amount of Silver Blades beforehand, maximizing your Silver Ash earnings as part of the event.

The Season of the Depths is here along with the Into the Depths quest. You can also know how to go fishing! Don’t forget to keep an eye on the Lost Sector and King’s Fall challenge rotation schedule!

Destiny 2 Compass Rose God Roll Recommendation

Compass Rose is a randomized weapon, meaning that every time you get one, the barrel, bullets, and perks will be randomized.

For Solstice 2022, it also falls with the Dream Work benefit. Any time you damage an enemy that an ally kills, that’s called assist.

Assists with Compass Rose will overfill the clip on your next reload. Want to load as many bullets as you can at once for a non-stop spree of shotgun goodness? This weapon can do it.

As usual, finding the “best” combination of features and benefits is quite difficult, as it will vary depending on your tastes and the mods you have in mind for the weapon. Some will be great for PvE, while others will excel in PvP.

The community has dubbed these “god scrolls”, mainly due to their great power and how they further increase the capabilities of each weapon, or compensate for some weapons that might be missing a buff to be optimal with the rest.

Here’s our recommended Divine Compass Rose roll in Destiny 2:

  • Trench barrel, vorpal or incandescent weapon
  • Surplus
  • assault mag
  • Full choke or barrel cover

Let’s start with the advantages. The surplus is essential for this weapon. With its handling, reload speed and stability increase with each fully charged skill.

This is a huge advantage, and while you may not be used to this style of play, it probably won’t take you long to recharge your skills again after using it. Furthermore, the benefit is activated even with one of them.

From here, it depends on whether you focus on PvP or PvE. For the former, Vorpal Weapon works quite well by increasing your damage against Guardians with their Super active.

For PvE, we recommend Trench Barrel, which increases damage, handling, and reload speed for a short period (or after three shots) after a melee hit. Taking on enemies is much easier here than in PvP and therefore you will get more out of it.

For solar energy users, Incandescent has been added as a potential benefit. Defeated enemies burn nearby enemies. Sure, the damage this deals is good, but even better is the way certain Solar 3.0 abilities gain powerful bonuses or cause chain reaction explosions that ripple through your scorched enemies.

For the magazine, Assault Mag works very well with both perk combinations. It increases stability quite a bit, as well as adding +10 shots per minute, which is a big plus.

Lastly, you have two options for the barrel. Full Choke, which reduces Compass Rose’s projectile spread when aiming down sights at the cost of precision damage, pairs perfectly with Surplus in PvE, allowing you to aim faster.

But for PvP, Barrel Shroud will do the job, further increasing stability and handling. The loss of precision damage from Full Chocke can leave you at a disadvantage, so this option will work well.

As usual, once you have your preferred roll, be sure to upgrade it to Masterwork to give it a stat boost, the ability to spawn orbs on multiple kills, and add the option for a kill tracker.
