It’s been a year since Dark Souls 3 first subjected us all to it, but it’s time to scrape the rust off that Claymore and get back in. This time we will discover the secrets of the Ringed City, the latest DLC of the brutal role-playing game.
As well as giving you a whole new area to explore, with new items, enemies and bosses, there’s also a new PvP arena and password matchmaking so you can assassinate your friends more easily. Before you do that, you’ll want to collect all the new toys to give yourself a head start.
But be careful: this DLC is not for fresh meat. In fact, you’ll need to have taken down all the Lords of Cinder or defeated the final boss of the Ashes of Ariandel DLC to even attempt it.

How to start the Ringed City DLC in Dark Souls 3
To start the Ringed City, you must first defeat all the Lords of Cinder and place their remains on their altars in the Firelink Shrine. The Fire Keeper will then walk towards the bonfire, so go down and talk to her and you can interact with the bonfire to head to the Flameless Shrine from there.
Alternatively, you can access the Ringed City through the Ashes of Ariandel DLC. If you already defeated the final boss of that expansion, head to the Ariandel Chapel and walk to the back of the burning room. There you will find another way to teleport to the Dreg Heap.
Continue until you reach the Kiln of the First Flame and just before the final boss, in the back corner there will be another bonfire that will teleport you to the Dreg Heap where your journey to the Ringed City begins.
