The long-awaited 2023 NBA Draft is just days away and excitement is building. With the number one pick, the San Antonio Spurs are expected to call Victor Wembanyama’s name. However, beyond this exceptional talent, the rest of the draft is shrouded in uncertainty. The battle for the second pick is intense, with G League Ignite’s Scoot Henderson and Alabama’s Brandon Miller competing for that spot.
Meanwhile, college standouts like Villanova’s Cam Whitmore and Houston’s Jarace Walker aim to upstage Overtime Elite twins Amen and Ausar Thompson at picks 4 and 5. As for the rest of the lottery and draft board, no one knows who will be selected.

Victor Wembanyama, the acclaimed 19-year-old hailed by LeBron James as a once-in-a-generation talent, had an impressive season in Paris with the Metropolitans ’92. Since the San Antonio Spurs secured the top spot in the draft lottery on the 16th May, Wembanyama has been considered a safe selection for the team.
He led his team to the finals, winning the league MVP title while also demonstrating exceptional durability by not missing a single game throughout the season. As he looks ahead to his NBA journey, Wembanyama has an excellent opportunity to become one of the prominent faces of the league when he suits up for the Spurs starting in October.

The debate over the No. 2 pick is still ongoing, with Brandon Miller currently ahead, but G League Ignite’s Scoot Henderson made a strong impression during his workout with the Charlotte Hornets and remains in contention. The Thompson twins also have a chance to be selected consecutively in fourth and fifth place, rounding out the top five.
Scott Henderson
Henderson is an exceptional athlete with extraordinary explosiveness. He is already at an elite level in the NBA and should make a smooth transition to the pro league from day one. Despite a season plagued by injuries, including a broken nose, a concussion and an ankle injury, there is no doubt that Henderson possesses an exceptional talent. In any other year, he would be a legitimate contender for the coveted first overall pick.
Brandon Miller
Miller, with his imposing physical attributes (6’9″, 200 pounds, 6’11” wingspan), is a prime example of a modern wing scorer. He excels in several aspects offensively, whether it’s coming off screens, playing as a blocker or creating his own shot. Miller’s ability to make full-court shots, combined with his size and length, draws comparisons to Brandon Ingram’s natural scoring ability.
