How to use the Tears of the Kingdom amiibo
If using Amiibo in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is the same as its predecessor, Breath of the Wild, then you can follow the steps below to scan your figure and collect your rewards.
It is important to note that you must attempt to open the Temple of Time for the first time in order to use Amiibo in Tears of the Kingdom.
- Enter your pause menu and navigate to the “Save” and “Load” screens.
- On this screen, select ‘Options’ and look for ‘Amiibo’.
- Select this setting and ‘Enable Amiibo functionality’.
- Once you have enabled Amiibo, scroll through the skills menu until you find the ‘Amiibo’ selection.
- Select this and make sure ‘Amiibo’ is equipped in the skill slot.
- Place the Amiibo scanner circle over a compatible area. If there is an exit on the screen, you will not be able to scan an Amiibo there.
- Then simply scan your figure or card by gently pressing it on the right controller of your Switch when in handheld mode.
Good luck getting Amiibo unlocks in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom! For more information on Link’s adventure through Hyrule, please visit our Tears of the Kingdom walkthrough.
