Delphox Build: Our Recommendations for the Best Delphox Moveset in Pokémon Unite

Delphox takes on the Attacker role in Pokémon Unite, allowing this Pokémon’s playstyle to consist of taking down multiple opponents with moves, knocking out enemy Pokémon, and gaining crowd control support in team fights. If you haven’t played as an attacking Pokémon yet, Delphox is a great place to start learning the role.

Looking at Delphox’s stats, it is justified to use him primarily as an attacker, but he leans towards mobility. When using Delphox, you will primarily damage opponents from a distance and use crowd control obstacles to slow or destabilize and then defeat Pokémon. Staying alive is your top priority so you don’t fall behind in experience or neglect helping your allies in fights.

As Delphox, you’ll need to stay close to another ranged attacker like Espeon, alongside a supporter like Blissey for shields and heals, or a defender like Mamoswine to follow up on disruptive moves used against enemy Pokémon. Throwing the enemy next to another ranged attacker will cause your opponent’s HP to be reduced and he will leave for the moment to heal. A Supporter will allow Delphox to survive longer, as Delphox itself is very fragile and has very limited options for escaping chaotic situations against all-rounder Pokémon like Lucario or Machamp. Defenders will allow Delphox to retreat from combat by distracting the enemy or using his body to absorb damage and compensate for Delphox’s low maximum HP.

Delphox will need to be careful at first until he learns both moves and increases his maximum HP through levels; Without these advantages, it is one of the most fragile Pokémon and can be surprised with few options to escape. Delphox’s buffs of stealing last hits from wild Pokémon will negate the enemy’s experience, while you receive all the blessings that experience brings, from levels to better moves. Delphox’s ability, Blaze, will deal additional damage via a small fireball after using a move when he is low on HP. Blaze will go on cooldown after it activates.

Like other evolving Pokémon, your goal at first will be to evolve Fennekin into Delphox as quickly as possible. You’ll want to reach level 7 early on, so you can have his full moveset at your will.

To learn more about Delphox’s Evolution line, be sure to visit the section below.

At the start of the match, you will need to choose Ember and Will-O-Wisp.

We recommend picking Ember because of how powerful she is and being able to shoot the initial Aipom for easy takedowns. Fennekin will learn Will-O-Wisp at level 3, so you’ll be able to deal damage and slow the enemy when Will-O-Wisp lands.

At level 6, you can choose between Fire Blast or Mystical Fire.

We recommend choosing Mystical Fire because when the upgraded version hits a Pokémon, the cooldown of all of Delphox’s moves will decrease. Being able to send a fireball in a straight line that explodes on impact every two seconds will make Delphox the most efficient, effective and lethal damage dealer. With the Mystic Fire option, Delphox can deal over 80,000 or over 130,000 damage in a single match, when played well.

Upon reaching level 7, you will have the choice between Fire Spin and Flame Charge.

We recommend choosing Fire Spin because when placed, it will home in on any nearby opponents. It can be used to slow enemies, damage them, and when caught in Fire Spin, will cause the enemy to spin helplessly in the vortex. Fire Spin’s casting distance is enormous, so using it as a trap can find unsuspecting enemies in the bushes. It can even make several enemies spin due to its vortex effect. Fire Spin is one of the best disruptive moves in the game, and combined with the cast of Mystical Fire, you’ll reduce the cooldown of Fire Spin to create an accelerated disruption.

When upgraded, it will increase Fire Spin damage and flame intensity.

Lastly, Delphox will learn its move Unite at level 8: Fanciful Fireworks.

Delphox will create gorgeous fireworks in an area, in addition to damaging and slowing enemy movement speed, and a first for a Unite move: reducing the HP recovery of enemy Pokémon trapped inside it. This extremely slows the movement speed of the enemy trapped within the circle. Don’t be careful when using this move, because Delphox can use it from a safe distance. It also allows Delphox to continue using its other moves in tandem, while Fanciful Fireworks continues to bombard the area.

It is best to use Fanciful Fireworks when fighting for Zapdos or in a battle. Fanciful Fireworks has the shortest Unite cooldown in the entire game. Don’t hesitate to use it often, as it recharges super fast. Use it to protect objectives, prevent enemies from getting close to their targets, and even use it on yourself to have a protective and destructive zone to fight enemy Pokémon within.

Do your best to display these magnificent fireworks near as many enemy Pokémon in the area of effect! Even if Delphox faints, the Unite Move will continue! Think of different ways to use this fast-charging Unite Move, whether offensively or defensively!

Delphox’s evolution line explained in Pokémon Unite

Delphox is placed at the end of a three-stage evolution line, meaning in Pokémon Unite, it starts the game as Fennekin.

Fennekin will evolve into Braixen when it reaches level 4. Braixen will evolve into Delphox when it reaches level 6.

The best items for Delphox in Pokémon Unite explained

When deciding on items to retain in Pokémon Unite, you should consider items that will increase the Pokémon’s strengths and then hide its weaknesses.

Delphox will be adept at defeating/stealing wild Pokémon, enemy Pokémon, and holding distance fights to earn points. For these reasons, Delphox will need Wise Glasses plus Choice Specs for his first two slots to further increase his already ferocious damage. These will substantially increase Delphox’s special attack and increase the Fire Spin combo into Mystical Fire.

Focus Band should be the last slot option for Delphox. Focus Band will provide healing, increased defense, and increased special defense to survive longer in difficult fights if Delphox goes toe-to-toe against an All-Rounder.

We recommend choosing Focus Band so that you can survive long enough in the early parts of the game, when you are still trying to reach level 4 to evolve for the first time. The additional defense with increased special defense will allow Delphox to escape, if he is cornered by speedsters like Zeraora, Absol, Talonflame or Gengar. Coming out with even a small hint of HP or returning to chaos after Focus Band’s healing will allow you to be a deadly Pokémon on the battlefield by providing constant obstacles/damage from a distance. You will only be able to use Ember and Will-O-Wisp up to level 6, so you should avoid teleporting back to base or you will lose experience to reach your last evolution stage.

Best Battle Items for Delphox in Pokémon Unite Explained

It is best to choose the eject button for Delphox’s battle item in Pokémon Unite. Delphox has no mobility options to escape hectic situations other than choosing Flame Charge, although Flame Charge is not a good choice as one of its moves compared to the much better Fire Spin. Other attackers like Greninja with his Double Team or Cinderace with his Feint are exemplary for escaping difficult situations, but Delphox excels at establishing crowd control through Fire Spin or dealing constant damage with Mystical Fire from a distance. The eject button will get you out of situations in an instant or allow you to get closer to your help teammates.

Using the eject button to dive and then using Fanciful Fireworks to have a constant area of damage, or just above your own goal can create a huge danger for enemies. Be sure to use the eject button as a last resort due to its long cooldown.

How to unlock Delphox in Pokémon Unite
