How to get zinc ore Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

You get zinc ore by collecting ore deposits in the Corel region in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. These ore deposits containing zinc ore are most commonly found on Mount Corel and in the Corel region beyond the Golden Saucer.

Your trusty Chocobo can also occasionally unearth zinc ore by sniffing and pecking at dig spots, and killing certain enemy types in Corel also rewards zinc. Enemies on Mount Corel will most likely drop zinc ore.

This means that if you are looking to craft items in Transmuter that require zinc ore, you should wait until you complete the story section on the Sunshine Coast, as this allows you to explore the Corel region. To speed things up on the Costa del Sol, check out our hidden Cactuar locations and Card Carnival pages.

Zinc is abundant on Mount Corel, but if you need it before setting off as part of the story, we recommend exploring the area around the abandoned factory in northern Corel. There are also a few clusters of ore deposits found near Sunrise Plateau Cache, on either side of the waterfall. Following the roads in the Corel section near the Costa del Sol and exploring Corel caches will usually help you find early zinc ore as well.

However, keep in mind that what you get from an ore deposit is random and zinc ore is quite rare in this part of Corel. You may get zinc ore from a deposit the first time you pick it up and then come back to find that you’ve picked up the more common iron ore the next time. This is why Mount Corel is so useful for obtaining zinc, as the chances of finding it increase due to the number of ore deposits there.

Look out for a bracelet-like symbol above the resources as it means it is an ore or gem deposit. Gold-colored bracelet symbols contain rare gems or deposits such as gold dust.

If you’re looking for zinc ore for the Seaside Inn Saga quest, you’ll be happy to know that amethysts can also be found by collecting bracelet symbol materials in Corel. Amethysts are also abundant on Mount Corel, but you can also occasionally find them in chests or by sniffing out dig spots with a Chocobo.

What is zinc ore used for in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth?

There are more uses as you move up the Transmuter ranks and unlock Excavation Intel sites, but until the first Corel region at rank seven, you need Zinc Ore to make:

  • Strength Bracelet
  • Star Pendant
  • boiler valve

The Boiler Valve is required to continue with the Seaside Inn Saga side quest. You unlock the Boiler Valve recipe by digging it up from the abandoned factory after visiting enough Lifesprings to obtain the excavation information for the factory.
