How to Fast Travel in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

To fast travel in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you must find specific locations that have travel points, such as shrines, and activate the travel points to unlock them. Once these points are activated, Link can fast travel to them as much as he wants.

When you unlock a travel point, it will appear on your world map. Here, simply hover over the point you want to go to and select “Travel” from the options that appear to send the link there.

However, you can’t take your horse with you when you do this, so maybe leave it in a stable or safe place when you can.

Sorry Bolt, you have to stay here for now.

Now, throughout Hyrule there are several places or buildings that you can search that have travel points. Below we explain a little about each of these and how to convert them into fast travel points.

Shrines

Shrines can be found in all regions of Hyrule, and there are usually quite a few in each region, making them perfect places for fast travel.

All you need to do to unlock a Shrine as a fast travel point is walk up to the Shrine and interact with it to open it. Once you’ve interacted with the Shrine door to open it, a blue fast travel point will activate right outside of it.

The Sanctuary fast travel points will look like this on your map:

Skyview Towers

Skyview Towers is another place you can fast travel to; However, like the Shrines, you must first find and activate them.

To do this, head to a Skyview Tower you’ve found and enter it, then interact with the mechanism inside to launch Link into the sky. Once you’re done surveying the area and you glide back to Hyrule, the Skyview Tower will unlock as another fast travel point.

Important places

You can also unlock fast travel points in important locations in, around, above and below Hyrule. Important locations, such as temples, can be unlocked as fast travel points when you discover them.

For example, when we discover a Temple and interact with the Zonai gate in the middle of the Temple, we instantly unlock a fast travel point here.

Unlocking travel points at these types of locations in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is something we highly recommend doing, as some events may require you to leave the area and then return to the location shortly after. Having the travel point unlocked at these important locations will save you a lot of excessive travel.

This is what a fast travel point from Temple looks like on your map:

Lightroots – The Depths

By now you probably know that there is an entire world beneath Hyrule called “The Depths.” Just like the world above, there’s a lot to explore down there and there are fast travel points too.

Fast travel points in The Depths are Lightroots. These are tree-like structures that can be found underground that Link can activate to light up a specific area. Once Link activates Lightroot, a travel point will be unlocked and the underground world will appear a bit brighter.

Lightroot’s fast travel points will look like this on your underground map:

That is all for now! We hope you have a great time traversing Hyrule using fast travel in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
