Flux Construct I is a recurring mini-boss in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, appearing in locations such as the West Hebra Sky archipelago and is a combination of a puzzle and a boss fight. The puzzle element comes in when you need to figure out exactly which part of the construct to attack, and of course the boss fight part comes in when you have to hit that part with everything you’ve got.
In Tears of the Kindgom, Link gains several new abilities that can make his time traveling through Hyrule much easier. Some abilities, like Ultrahand, can be used specifically to take down difficult enemies that get in your way.
Without further ado, we’ll show you how to beat Flux Construct I in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

How to prepare to fight Flux Construct I in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
There are a couple of things we recommend doing before taking on Flux Construct I in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom:
- Cooking Food: Flux Construct can cause serious damage. If you don’t already have a couple of meals in your inventory, it’s a good idea to stock up on a few first.
- Craft Elixirs: In particular, we suggest making a couple of elixirs that increase your speed (if you can), as this will help you dodge the Flux Construct’s attacks. Also, a cold resistance elixir would be useful since it’s quite cold here.
- Pick up weapons: It takes quite a few attacks to take down the construct, and if you run out of weapons halfway there’s little chance you’ll make it to the end of the fight. So before entering the fight, check the status of your weapons and stock up on them if necessary.
- Equip Ultrahand: You’ll need this skill in order to defeat the construct, and having it equipped in your skill slot will save you valuable time in the fight. You will unlock Ultrahand by completing the Ukouh Shrine.
Once you feel like you’ve prepared Link enough, you can take on Flux Construct I.
How to beat Flux Construct I in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
To beat Flux Construct I in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you must attack the glowing cube containing the Construct’s core. It is also the source of the Construct’s power.
To do this, you must wait for the construct to attack. Different attacks you perform will expose the Cube in different areas. It’s up to you to find the Shining Cube and attack it before the Construct is ready to attack again.
Below is a brief rundown of each Flux Construct attack I can use and where the Glowing Cube will hide for each one.
Fist Strike Attack
One of Flux Construct I’s attacks will be to move towards you and then slam both hands into the ground in an attempt to crush you. Once he gets close to you, dodge to the side when he raises his arms to avoid this attack. Don’t get too close because the shock wave will damage you.
Your fists will then remain on the ground for a short period of time. While stuck in this position, face the front of the construct and use Ultrahand to grab the glowing block on its knee on the left side.
Take out the block with Ultrahand and the construct will dismantle for a short period of time. Attack the glowing block while it is free. If you land eight or nine good hits on the block, you will remove a substantial amount of the construct’s health.
cube attack
In his large cube form, he will roll across the platform and try to crush you. However, while you avoid this attack, keep an eye out for the Cube.
In a moment, it will turn around and reveal that the Glowing Cube is in the middle row on the edge of one of the Cube’s sides. While avoiding being crushed, use Ultrahand to free the glowing cube and dismantle the construction.
Once the Cube is out, attack it again to take away another chunk of its health.
Floating rectangle attack
The construct will float above you and follow you across the platform for this attack. He will then extend a row of his cubes and shoot you. This attack is slow enough that you can dodge it before it does any real damage.
The Shiny Cube is now located at the bottom of the floating rectangle. The easiest way to get there is to let the Construct shoot its lines of bricks at you and then run behind the line of bricks and under the rectangle while the Construct recharges.
Then, use Ultrahand to take out the Glowing Cube from the middle and attack it again.
Fastest punch attack
Once you take away a portion of its health, Flux Construct can recycle its first attack again, only this time it’s a little faster and the location of the Shining Cube has changed. If you have health problems, now is a good time to eat one of your meals and consume an elixir to increase speed.
The construct will move towards you and swing its fists again. Then, when it’s stuck in place for a moment, run up and confront the construct. If you are facing forward, the Shiny Cube will be on his shoulder to your right. If you look at him from behind, the Cube will be on his shoulder to your left.
If you miss the window to grab the Cube, the Construct will perform another variation of this attack with one arm and you can try to grab it at that time.
You know what to do, grab the cube with Ultrahand and take it out to dismantle the construct. He attacks the Cube as soon as it is free.
Attack on the central cube
Now this attack is a bit trickier than the others and can save you until you are low on health. The Building will turn into another large Cube, but this time the glowing Cube is nowhere to be seen on the outside. That’s because it’s hidden in the center of the Cube.
Keep as much distance as possible from the Cube as it moves and use Ultrahand repeatedly to grab smaller Cubes and release them.
Continue removing the cubes until you find the glowing cube in the middle.
Release the glowing cube and attack it to reduce the Flux Construct’s health. Once his health bar is completely depleted, you will have beaten him and several rewards will appear.
Once you beat Flux Construct I in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, the glowing cube you’ve been attacking will drop a handful of rewards, including zonai charges and a Flux Construct core.
Congratulations! You have now defeated the Guardian of the West Hebra Celestial Archipelago in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
